Inheritance thoughts and opinions [SPOILERS]

Alright so I have finished the DLC twice now with the different endings and I got to say I'm very pleased unlike some people here seem to be. I am also very happy the DLC got made, huge thank you for that!

Having gone through the original game countless times and talking about the story and speculating about the story with people in here I was pretty set on how I saw the story of the painter and his family but after the DLC... I am not so sure anymore! :D

We have choices here too in some places and the most obvious one is the mother/father room that is in the "flashback" (i'll call it a flashback now till someone points a better word for it lol) where we can choose which parent we "prefer" (got an achievement for that on my second playthrough). That affects the room the paintings are but also memories found later such as the birthday cakes and the room where you follow Mr.Scooter. After seeing how both ways end and turn-out I can't really say that the painter was the only "bad guy" in the whole ordeal. If you "prefer" the father you can hear him crying and being sad over his wife leaving him deal with the birthday all alone. In the cat corridor room the father/painter is also saying that nothing has to do with his wifes appearance like I initially thought. There are some other bits and pieces too which made me really question the way I saw the whole story but I'll leave them for later messages if someone has the patience to read through this whole text lol.

I've also found some semi secrets (like how to get the knife memory from the safe) and I still have a few I would like to figure out (you haunt me sun door ;_;). Also still wondering if I would have to do something after finding all the drawings and arranged them in the right order because the daughter says "there must be more to this".

All and all, I am really impressed and happy we got to play the story from the daughters perspective, questions just keep on coming. :D

You also need to have seen both endings before it lets you get the third ending, I believe.

I got the inheritance ending 1st ,then got the to little to late ending last ,so you can get them in any order

EDIT: We've checked it out. The achievement works fine, you need to be missing something :) note that the children drwaings you can gather in the painter room don't add up to this achievement

Thank you for checking! Think I derped a bit in mine so I quit the game and went back with continue after which the drawings didn't work at all so I have to run the game again and try it again. Not complaining though, I'm enjoying this ;)

btw Neptuned, a bit off-topic, but any chance of us getting another DLC? ;_; wife story? I need more of this to my life and Observer is not here yet D:

Step back and make sure to shine the light for ~30 seconds. Sometimes the pieces don't get caught in the light correctly and you have to move back a bit more and give them another blast.

Tried again and stared at it for over a minute. Weirdly enough the rat drawing completely disappeared after a while. It no longer showed when you shine your flashlight on it.

@Trivius: Thanks for the great walkthrough and guide. The game is great but earning all the achievements just makes it much more satisfying. Appreciate the time you put in to create it.

Weird, either A. It's bugged or B. You're not in the sweet spot.

It does disappear after a while, and then you have to shine your flashlight on it for another ~30 seconds and it reappears when you turn the flashlght off.

I arranged the pictures and I got a weird picture about a rat and the woman is commenting that it was just all a sick joke. What did I do wrong? When I attempt to normally complete the game, I get the father ending, so I chose my side. I can't get the Tree and Apple ending though, because the map doesn't appear.

I didn't follow any guide, I just heard rumors that I'm supposed to get the 3rd ending if I arraged the drawings and I didn't get. Where is your guide though? I didn't find it at the guides section.

Personally I really enjoyed the DLC. It's completely different than the original game but so similar at the same time.
I only played the DLC once so far. The final room was strange. I entered it and it finished very fast. I couldn't look at anything in the room. :(
I'll read some guides for the next attempt. I wonder if the mother's disc is somewhere. I couldn't find it in her room so I couldn't play music. ^^

The daughter is like her parents: completely mad. xD
