You have pointed out some bugs on this discussion forum, some of which overlap. I will gather them here under one topic. If you find more post them here, so as to keep things clean and simple. Please refrain from commenting, we want it to be as smooth as possible. Any offtopic will be deleted.
Thanks for your feedback, it's much appreciated!
Those are the bugs we know of for the time being:
- Using the latest catalyst drivers on a radeon R9 and the game freeze sometimes with thee driver recovery message appearing. / Yeah, having the same problem with R9 380 drivers. Crashing after getting upstairs.
- it would be enough if the game would NOT ignore my Nvidia settings that i tried to force on this game. for now at least.
- I have played for a while earlier today, but now Continue in the title menu is greyed out so I can't click it
- There is no option to read the letter in the first room, the 'Don't call the Exterminators again' note on the table. I had to right click hold just to squint at my screen.
- when the player finds the 'ingredients', the VO cuts off just a half a second too soon.
- It seems that sliders tend to move to the left sometimes, wich requires a game restart. This might be connected to a xbox controller issue, since I'm using one. Would also be nice if the mouse cursor would dissapear when not using mouse and keyboards.
- found a bug involving the room with the large gears/cogs in the wall and on the door. We were standing to the right of the door against the wall, sort of facing the door, and we noticed the white interaction icon pop up when we faced a certain angle. Turns out it let us open the door. It seems we were opening the door from the other side, through the wall.
- when you look at the painting of the lady with the rat and the room starts spinning. It's possible if you aren't close enough to the painting for the spinning to glitch you outside the map.
- so the xbox one controller goes a little crazy in the menus. works just fine in the game itself, but in the menus it either takes multiple tries to move up or down or just goes across the options like crazy

Books are flying in the air

Then, i understand that this is optimization issue, but...
When you are near child's room it’s not lit

But one step closer and

Also there is no light switcher in child’s room...
- Xbox One controller and Windows 10; There is a bug, the left analog is always going to the left.
- When the key cover closes some keys pass through it. A small adjustment would be necessary.
- the mouse seems really sensitive

In the Hallway after the Expanding Boy Painting scenario, after finding the rat/canvas/fire note and continuing to the door at the end of the hallway, there is this invisible brick wall texture seen only when standing at the door and looking back. There is also 'wooden beam' texture visible coming through the wall near the ceiling above the doorway
If this is talking about the room with the 3 rat paintings that catches on fire, then you get flung out of the map because when you enter the room, on your immediate left there is a plank of wood & I guess it's a roll of canvas or something leaning against the wall & this object has some weird geometry & when you walk against it it boosts you in weird directions including straight up out of the map (it was also really cool to watch the room explosion while falling away from the map, it is a really cool animation). No other objects in that room seem to trigger a similar fling.
I quit the game and when i came back, i was in the painter's room (but next level, so i were not blocked).
In the very last room of the early access, the the one where the phone is behind the bookcase and you look up and the room extends forever upwards, when the bay doll fell out of the sky and hit the ground its arms got stuck i nthe floor and it started jiggling around.
1. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel from the desktop's context menu - right click on your desktop and choose NVIDIA Control Panel from the list.
2. go to Manage 3D Settings->Program Settings tab
3. Hit the Add button (this might take a while to load) than choose Layers of Fear from the list and push the Add Selected Application/Progamme
4. Under 2. set your Preferred graphics processor value will to High Performance (NVIDIA Card) and hit Apply.
Once set the setting will be saved you WON'T have to do it again after a PC restart.
I just finished this game and I am so stunned and intrigued. Everything in this game speaks to me! Next playthrough, I'm going to bring pen and paper and do a playthrough to find bugs and glitches and hopefully help Bloober Team out, because damn! I want more of this amazingness!
I'm having these exact issues and it's keeping me from even getting into the game.
i should mention that this only happens in-game.
if quality settings are altered from the main menu there are no problems.
i didnt even know why i was lagging so much at first but this saved me sooooo much.
