No Sound In Game

I've tried launching the game in both windows 7/8 and as admin, but to no avail. I've tried reinstalling the game and manage audio outputs, but to no avail. I feel like I have tried everything possible without getting any audio.

Out of the ~80 games I've got on steam, three games suddenly lack audio: Layers of Fear, Welcome to Princeland and The Forest.

Any one have a clue on how I could get audio?

update graphic drivers and or audio drivers. check audio settings in game. plug your earphones properly
