The Tree and the Apple rat picture!

I have been through the DLC 5 times now - every time, the rat picture refuses to morph into the map thus not letting me get the true ending. I have played the flashback scenes in different orders as other guides have said but it still refuses to morph. Choosen father's side also.

Any help please?

Yeah I thought that too, but it doesn't matter where I do it from (distance) it does not morph still.

I just got that achievement. What I did was: Sided with the Father + Got ALL the notes and pictures on the same run (This Could be Important achievement) then, I put the drawings on the wall, but left them unordered.
Shine the light on them for about 30 seconds, turn off the flashlight (with the images still scrambled, not revealing her face) make sure they're all glowing even though you don't have it fixed yet. If they're not glowing, keep shining your light on them and turning it back off until they are.) Turn your light back on, THEN fix them so that she says "there must be more to this". After she's done talking, turn your flashlight back off. That should reveal the map.

If this still doesn't work, I've been told that you should do this: Go back to the main menu, then boot your save up again. With the image correct, shine your flashlight on the pictures for two(2) minutes, then turn it back off.

Just forced myself to play this again. Followed it to the T, and I just get the exact same result. "Ugh, what is this? Some sick joke" comment. The rat does not morph as usual no matter how far I stand or all noted collected.

Yes. Didn't work. I am out of ideas myself with this one. Been through the dlc 6 times now.

Man, sorry I couldn't help you. Not sure what I did differently. I'm actually gonna run back through it a time or two and see if I can find some definitive solution. I'll let you know if I find something.

It's not easy.
I used that same video guide that I linked you and it worked.
My advice would be to use that guide, have it playing on your phone or tablet or whatever and follow it while you play on your PC.
Do absolutely everything they do. Pick up every tiny thing they pick up, trigger every event they trigger (the melting violin for instance) make sure you kill the snake, watch the Little Red Riding Hood plays, every single thing, all in one run.
Don't quit the DLC at any point, don't even ALT TAB just to be safe. It'll take about 2 hours.

Tip for the office stage: After you play the piano for your mother, your next stop will be the room with the clock that morphs the room. There are two important things to remember here.
One: In one of the versions of the room there is a gramophone on the table; DON'T TOUCH IT. It has been known to break the clock and prevent you from getting the knife.
Two: The little note slip that tells you the combonation may be different for you. If it's not in the drawer like it is in the video, then it's either on the table or in the bookcase. You may have to use the clock to check every version of the room to find it.

If this still doesn't work, then I'm afraid I'm out of advice. Best of luck.

Hey, I know I'm almost 4 years late to the party. But like you I had a lot of trouble getting this achievement. Only the wall would show the map and not the drawings. What I did was start a new game, rush through to get all the drawings (note and action don't matter) and put them all at once on the wall. I think what I was doing wrong is I put the ones from the main floor on the wall and than went to pick up the others.
