how do I use the key?

I know, such a noob question, but I am in the beginning of the game, and I have the key from the desk by the Little Red Riding Hood pictures. I am at a door that needs me to use the key , but no matter what I click, I can't open the door. I am playing on a PC. How do I use the key?

use the same button u use to interact with bojects. if you used a 360/Xbone controller it woult be RIGHT TRIGGER

thanks! I also figured out that the key is specific to a door, so all I had to do is open the correct door that goes to the key. If the key doesn't fit (you must acquit. sorry couldn't pass that up)... but seriously, if the key doesn't fit, it simply won't BE used and that means I have to keep searching for the door it goes to. Once used on the correct door, it disappears.
