Assetto Corsa Rally

Assetto Corsa Rally

!!! IF FORCE FEEDBACK IS TOO WEAK YOU CAN FIX IT, READ ON !!!
If you feel that the Force Feedback in Assetto Corsa Rally is far too weak and the steering wheel is not stiff enough —even after maxing out the in-game settings—you can try this. I’m using a Logitech G923, and initially, the wheel felt incredibly soft and lacked detail. You can use this temporary fix I found at overtake.gg to significantly improve the wheel stiffness and FFB.

Step 1: In-Game Settings
First, go to the Game Options and set all FFB settings to maximum. You can fine-tune these later, but for this fix to work effectively as a baseline, start with everything maxed out.

Step 2: Locate the Config Folder
Press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the "Run" dialog.
Paste the following path and hit Enter:

%localappdata%\acr\Saved\Config\Windows

(Manual path: C:\Users\YourPCName\AppData\Local\acr\Saved\Config\Windows)

Step 3: Create the Input.ini File
In this folder, create a new text document (.txt).
Copy and paste the following lines into the file:

ini[/script/dmengine.dminputsettings]
FFB.OverallMultiplier=4.0
FFB.SATMultiplier=3.0
FFB.RoadEffectMultiplier=3.0
FFB.DamperMultiplier=3.0
FFB.FrictionMultiplier=2.0
FFB.CenterBoost=1.2
FFB.CenterBoostGain=1.1
FFB.Stiffness=2.0

*Important: Make sure to leave two empty lines at the very end of the file after the last entry.

Step 4: Save and Lock
Save the file and rename it exactly to:
Input.ini
(Ensure you change the file extension from .txt to .ini).
Right-click the file, select Properties, check the "Read Only" box, and click Apply.
This prevents the game from overwriting your custom values.

You are free to tweak these multipliers.
Enjoy the drive!

UPDATE: I also noticed thanks to someone's post here that there is a FFB Multiplier option in the CAR SETUP menu before the stage starts in SERVICE PARK. I will try that also right now and you guys might want to try that for a whole increase in FFB settings.

My current settings for Logitech G923.

[/script/dmengine.dminputsettings]
FFB.OverallMultiplier=6.0
FFB.SATMultiplier=4.5
FFB.RoadEffectMultiplier=4.5
FFB.DamperMultiplier=2.5
FFB.FrictionMultiplier=4.0
FFB.CenterBoost=8.0
FFB.CenterBoostGain=10.0
FFB.Stiffness=6.0
FFB.LowPassFilter=0.0
FFB.MinimumForce=0.28
FFB.GyroEffectScale=1.5

(Use at your own risk. Too much force feedback, prolonged, and intense use may damage your wheel.)
It's a shame the users have to desperately go into deep dives to find a fix for this. The 0.4 update did nothing more than add noisy grinding effects to my wheel and they called it Fanatec Fullforce implementation. All other (much more) important stuff is still not working.
Just gave this a go and I've noticed a significant improvement in force feedback!

However, there's still a lack of road feel/detail on snow and gravel, presumably because of there being little to no feedback for wheel slip yet.

Nevertheless, this will get me by on my direct drive until future updates come out!

Much appreciated for sharing on here.
As far I understand this is an additional and new separate file .ini in the folder

%localappdata%\acr\Saved\Config\Windows.

Is it correct?

This list is longer that your proposed one ???
In any simulation game, force feedback is the last thing developed, since the physics are constantly being adjusted, so doing it at the end is the most optimal. For the umpteenth time, it's an early access game.

Hi. I am glad it made your driving experience better.

Yes we create a new file in the folder.

Yes, this is more detailed, doesn't mean better. Try it out for yourselves and customize to your like.
Without FFB you can't drive and test the car handling / physics properly, so it can't be the last thing developed.
FFB is not last, it's generally adjusted parallel to physics and tires as needed. Audio is often one of the last areas to get fine-tuning but, it varies by studio.
Where are folks learning about the variables that the game understands and what range of values to set them to? I did a lot of iterating last night on my Input.INI file but had no idea what to set. I'll give these a whirl on my DD1 & see what I think, thank you!

I'm going to test this out. Do you think it works for Fanatec wheelbases? The FFB is really horrible; if this can significantly improve things, that would be great. Thanks for sharing.
Okay, it’s like night and day—thanks a lot, mate. I can finally feel where my wheels are; I’ve finally got that connection between the wheel and the steering wheel. It’s amazing—I’ll finally be able to really enjoy it.
