Need controller help!
Connected my PS3 controller and everything works fine. However, I haven't figured out how to aim properly yet. I'm using Katarina the gunslinger and it seems I can only fire where the mouse pointer is located! So when I press S and run downwards, then attack, I automatically fire upwards anyway (cause that's where my mouse is).

I mapped WASD to the directional inputs, do I still need to map the mouse cursor to my gamepad as well? Doesn't this defeat the purpose of using a gamepad?

You'd have better luck with a wired xbox 360 controller as it is supported by this (and many other games) natively on the PC. I know this doesn't answer your question directly but I'm saying this anyway as I feel it would give you the best gaming experience.

Hey I am glad I got a response anyway!

I have never owned an Xbox; is there any model in partiicular you could recommend?

Get this one. Microsoft 52A-00004 XBox 360 Common Controller Winxp USB Port

That's the one I use for games that require or work better with a controller.

First of all: thank you for the recommendation, TimBlackmon.

Does it work well with Windows 7 Ultimate? Two weeks ago, I bought this Roxio HD recorder, and its editing software crashed every 5 minutes! It was real bad and I had to return it!

I use win7 and it works fine, it should just be plug and play.

Thanks!

Does it rumble? Did you try it with Dungeon siege 3 yet? I thought rumble was a console-only thing!

I tried the Dungeon Siege 3 demo a few years ago, and I believe it had rumble. I haven't played more than a few minutes though of the full game after purchasing it last night. The controller does have rumble option itself though by default.

you have been using a controller all thiss time ??

I would recommend using this instead: http://www.motioninjoy.com/ it can make your computer think that your ps3 controller is a xbox controller, as well as allowing custom key mapping

Hey Hex as BlackPaul suggested I would honestly just install a program that would convince your comp that the ps3 controller is a xbox360 controller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsUtQ8urmw0 ----> tutorial on how how to do this without using motioninjoy and without having to boot up any excess programs or have anything running the in the background. It might be a little outdated so you could search around for the actual forum it should have updated files and what not. It works perfect just takes a bit of getting used to as the ps3 controllers aren't labelled the same but they will map the same way as using an xbox360 controller by default since your gonna be using the drivers for the 360 anyways. *Disclaimer* although the link is for getting it set up on a ps1 emulator I'm not condoning piracy or using an emulator just fyi ** :D hope that helps and saves you some mula and time waiting

Thanks, TheSaneOne.

I think this is exactly what I need. I tried motioninjoy before, but all I did was map the keys to the buttons. The only way to remove the mouse pointer when in Dungeon Siege 3, is by plugging in an Xbox controller or, like you said, tricking the pc into believing I'm using one!

@Azur-Trolli Thanks for the complete layout! I had a hard time figuring out how to use the healing/defensive ability when I switched to the controller. Using a keyboard, it's 4 by default. On the controller you have to hold block (Lt defensive mode), then press X.

I actually redid the prologue while using the controller just for the controller-specific tooltips!
