Rajani on hardcore = ragequit bait

Okay, so I tried playing this game on normal and found the regular encounters so easy it lacked any challenge.

So I tried on hardcore and the normal encounters were more engaging, but I noticed the bosses turned into damage sponges with brutal attacks.

I fight the giant spider, and I noticed he had some one shot kills, but I was able to keep moving and fighting and beat it. - Little did I realize this would prophesize the pain to come.

Then I get to Rajani. She's tough, but I beat her first form, then her archon form happens and there is a literal one hit attack with a series of flames that appear under your feet. It appears almost instantly with no telegraphic or any warning, If you block it and survive, you fall down, and then the next one kills you. You pretty much just have to be lucky enough to be moving or dodging at the exact moment it starts, and have space to move to until the attack ends.

I really wanted to give this game a fair trial and like it.

I'm pretty good at action RPGs, loved the first two Dungeon Siege games and played them back when they came out, This one...what can I say? I got beyond the control issues and all the other odd choices, but damn this game wants to make me dislike it.

Sorry tough guy, I actually managed to beat her after about twenty more tries.

I did some grinding and managed to get to a point where I could withstand a single hit and live.

Now I'm just getting bored with the game. It's very linear and super serious time world where everyone is miserable and everyone dies as a plot devie kinda crap.

I'm on casual playing Reinhart with Anjali and level 20 - Rajani still kicking my butt. Very frustrating. I keep saving before meeting her thugs in the graveyard and going back to keep leveling up to try and get more XP to beat her. It's on casual for god's sake. It really shouldn't be this hard. I played Anjali with Lucas and had beat Rajani by level 15 or so. Why so hard on casual... it's making me not want to play the game.

This game is no harder than any dungeon-like game RPG. Anybody who says this is harder is simply bad at gaming, are whiners/babies or even both. I have beat this game 3 times already with each different character on hardcore.

She is the most difficult boss on hardcore. If you beat her, you will beat other bosses no problem.

Learning her attack pattern is the key to beating her. What I find is most annoying is the flame pillar spam when Rajani is in her second stage. I found out that she only does that move when my character is not close by. I reduced her usage of that move by staying close and rolling away from her heat seeking missiles.

After several tries, I finally beat her on Rainhardt. It's really all about dodging. Elden Ring has trained me for this game.

All her attacks, except for pillars of fire, can be successfully blocked (if parameter of blocking is sufficient).

Literally just had my friend sit there and block while I shot her with Kat's rifle.
