How to play FF7 Offline
You can actually play offline if you disable cloud saving, which you can do from the launcher, under Network. No more complaining.

If you could rename the title to being something smaller so people could see "play ff7 offline" or something to that affect, i would then say get this ♥♥♥♥ stickied so HOPEFULLY people will stop asking it/♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Don't you have to turn on cloud saving?
They should find it out themselves or is the problem they just turn it on right away?

If you read the forums, about everyother topic made is about people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that they have to connected to Square's servers to play and they complain about it. When in actually they are completely wrong and it gets iritating repeating it to every new topic.

But yea, you can play this offline. only ever connecting to Square the very first time you sign up. After that you can have nothing to do with any of thier ♥♥♥♥.

Eh why not, another +1 sticky

Don't you need internet to get achievements?
it was like that for episode 2 but that was when achievements first came out of course.

If you've previously run the game while online (or even just viewed the details view for it) and Steam thus knows about the achievement schema for the game, then you'll get achievements when offline. When you go back online this will be reported to the backend and should show on your profile.

cool thanks for the info. it's nice to have help with info sometimes, instead of figuring out yourself. Although i have internet at home now,
so it no longer an issue. i'm sure it will help someone though.

You need to be able to sign in to turn off cloud saves, right? My problem is that I signed up but can't log in the first time so... no game for me :(

Yes, you only need to sign in once, however.

No problem, glad to help :)
If the Square-Enix server is down, I can't play. If there is no internet connection, I can't play. Explain that geniuses!

It's not "offline" if I still have to have an internet connection just to start the damn thing.

How is the Steam client not compatible with a Lenovo laptop running Windows?
