Elemental and added effect

What are the difference, I guessed elementas are for fire, ice, lightning, and added affect is for bio tranform. anyone know whats the difference are.

elemental converts your weapon dmg to like fire dmg. I would say pairing it with summon materia holy damage one is safest one Be carefull you may not do damage with it or you may heal the mob. add effect adds status change to your weapon like slow. if you add death to your weapon you may actually heal some mobs

When you link Elemental, your weapon or armor will take on the properties of the linked materia. In a weapon, Elemental adds the link materia's element to your weapon so your attacks will deal damage in the materia's element instead if it has one. Linking it to your armor will reduced, nullify, or absorb the element of the linked materia if you get hit by it, depending on Elemental's level.

Added Effect takes the status effects of the linked materia and puts them on your weapon or armor. Linking Transform for example will cause your attacks to occasionally inflict Mini and/or Toad on who you hit. Putting it in your armor with Transform grants resistance and eventually immunity to Mini or Toad.

Note that you can't get any benefits linking either with Master Magic or Master Summon. I've heard though (but not tested) that linking Added Effect with Hades is quite powerful.

Added effect Hades confirmed for amazing. Adds pretty much every bad status, or protects you if in armor.

also, elemental will protect/inflict invisible elements, like Non-elemental, Hidden, etc. try pairing any Independent(purple) with elemental in armor, and get Ultima Beamed for only half damage.
