So how does this work?
With Dice, you will damage the enemies, based on the outcome of the roll. As your levels increase, so do the amount of the dice rolled. This can easily make this a powerful attack...when rolled in your favor.
Slot is similar to Setzer's Slot in VI, in the fact that a reel appears, and spins. You then stop the reel, and the three images determine what limit is performed.
Slot is the funniest of the two in my opinion, if your lucky and skilled enough and get Cat Sith Face then you kill evry enemy instantly even Ruby or Emerald Weapon.
Its really tricky to do though and you need a bit of luck as well.
Heres the full Slot List:
3 Stars=Mog Dance
A Mini-Mog appears, and restores HP, MP, and Status.
3 Crowns=Toy Soldier
6 Toy soldiers attack all enemies
3 Bars=Summon
A random summon is used.
3 Caith Sith,s Stuffed Doll=Transform
Cait Sith grows in size, and the others are taken out of battle. Only Cait Sith gains EXP after battle. His HP are reduced to 3333, while his MP is reduced to 333.
3 Hearts=Lucky Girl
Party's HIT% is raised to 100%.
2 parts of Caith Sith,s face and one bar=Death to all
All party/enemies are KO'ed. (Extremely rare)
3 Parts Caith Sith,s face (Full Face)=Instant victory
All enemies are KO'ed. Tricky, harder than tifa`s reels.
In order to unlock the Slots limit, I believe Cait Sith needs to land 40 killing blows against enemies. I suggest fitting him with an Enemy Skill materia with Matra Magic or Trine and farming mobs in Mt. Corel or the forests outside Rocket Town.
You're wrong, to get his 2nd limit break "SLOT", you need to activate his first limit break "DICE" 8 times first.
That's not what this guide says:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps/197341-final-fantasy-vii/faqs/16441
Then again, I never bother with Cait Sith, so I don't really know if the guide is right or wrong. One would assume eight uses of Dice, since that's like every other limit break (except Vincent, who also unlocks through killing blows sans Chaos), but since Cait only has two limit skills it's justified that it would be different.
Actually, your both right. It's a combination of the two. You have to use Dice a minimum of 8 times and have a minimum of 40 kills with Cait Sith.
I haven't found anywhere that says you need to do both, though I have found inconsistancies in the number of kills you need. Some say 40, some say 80.
Guides can be wrong, I know that first hand
The Game-Over (Full Face trick) isn't tricky. Its meant to be impossible. There's a thing in the code which moves the slots one extra face if you land on the 3 Cait sith faces. Its called a black flag, its a purposely placed exploit
