Battle Arena.... What determines points?
so.. so sometimes I get 10k+ points and other times I get like 1-3k Now, I thought it had something to do with the time you spent in there but sometimes I really just blow through it so long as my yellow materia is not affected and I can use my enemy skill and sometimes it takes longer but I just blew through it, one shot everything and I got ....1126 points... it just seems like such a waste of time and GP to only get that much when I am trying to get the 51k or so omislash and then 25k champions belt... so really... what determines the BP you get?

Well, I finally got omislash after spending 180 GP, that was annoying only getting like 3k points a lot of the time. lol

It all depends on what kind of enemies and handicaps you get. For example having all your materia broken and fighting a tough enemy in the last round will give you a lot of BP, but your total will also depend on wich enemies and handicaps you get before that.

So let's say you fight a certain group of enemies (the round # doesn't matter for this example) and you get let's say 100BP for it, all enemies have a set amount of points I think. Then that number is multiplied wich depends on wich handicap you got in the previous round and wich # round it was you just won. How those two things work together I'm not really sure about though. So getting all your materia broken on the LAST round while fighting a tough enemy will net you a lot of BP, so although it's a pretty nasty handicap, you want it! If you're strong enough it shouldn't matter.

So then your total becomes BP for winning round x #round and wich handicap.

I'm no expert on this but that is pretty much how it works.

actually, it is just handicaps, that is what I read, enemies have nothing to do with it and that seemed to follow with what I got from the Battle Arena

The thing that determines your BP is the severity of the handicaps that you get. Things that add the least amount of BP would be heal, item break, armor break, etc. The things that add the most amount of BP are the handicaps that break materia, with the "Break all Materia" being the most rewarding. However, the most BP you can get per battle is roughly 12500, so don't try to stack too many severe ailments, as you might only be hurting yourself unnecessarily.

I know it is the stacks but really, nothing actually matters until the end with the last one so stacking them, you don't really have any choice unless you just want to waste your GP, really, anything less than 3k GP was and is a waste of time.

Yeah, but if you're like me, I try to get a gold chocobo before the end of disc 2, and while I'm doing all that racing, I get the GP instead of the item rewards. By the time you have to fight in Battle Arena for omnislash, W-Summon, and the other items, you'll have 500+ GP. So at that point, it really doesn't matter how much you get, you're bound to get the required 96000 BP sooner or later.

yeah.... I used Omislash against the Jenova Birth and killed it at the start of the battle. My goal was to get omislash before the end of disc one so when i manage to get lucky with the chocobo races and win a turbo either and trade it for 150 GP, 3k points is a waste.... and 3k points is a waste of time anyway.

I'm not saying it isn't a waste of time, I only said that it's not a waste of GP once you have that much.
