Parallels or Fusion on a Mac?

I'm currently playing this on my MacBook Pro using Win7 via BootCamp but would love to not have to reboot into Windows to play. I see lots of posts mentioning potential issues while running Windows via Parallels or Fusion but can't seem to find anyone saying "yes, I've tried this and it works", or "I've tried this and it doesn't work". I know that performance would suffer in a virtual environment but I'm thinking (hoping) it wouldn't be all that relevant for this game due to its age, and I'd like to hear some personal feedback before throwing down the money for one of these virtual machines. Anyone tried this?

It runs fine for me in a Windows 7 32-bit VMware Fusion 5 virtual machine. I am using a mid-2012 MacBook Air, OS X 10.8.4, i7 2 GHz, 8 GB RAM, HD 4000 graphics. Cloud-syncing is turned off. I hope this helps.

I just tried it in Parallels 9 running Windows 7 on a mid-2012 MacBook Pro Retina. Only played a few minutes, but it seemed to be smooth and responsive.
