Changing Square-Enix accounts after logging in?
Is this even possible?

I had purchased the PC version for my father during its 50% off sale, but it's registered to an e-mail address and Square-Enix account that belongs to me (I made it solely for that purpose, though). Not really thinking, I signed into the same e-mail address after purchasing it here on Steam and realized pretty quickly that I wish I hadn't done that, and I wanted to change the account to one where he and I wouldn't just be linked together.

So, am I able to do that or am I stuck with my mistake? I'm redownloading it in hopes that it'll give me another shot, but if that doesn't I hope there's a way to change it.

Alrighty, kinda figured that deleting and reinstalling wouldn't fix it, but I'm still hoping that there's a solution out there for fixing it.

I am afraid your sh1toutaluck. You could try sending a ticket to SE support or steam support. However I think Steam Support just says go to SE support and SE support says..no such luck sir...
but try anyways I would say, no shot no goal

Just to be clear, we're talking about switching Square Enix accounts. You *CAN* change Square Enix accounts, but you *CANNOT* change the Steam account you purchased it on. I will assume you bought it on your father's Steam account but accidentally linked it to your own Square Enix account.

First, head over to square-enix.com and login with your current Square Enix account. Click on your user settings, then click 'linked accounts' (url: http://na.square-enix.com/us/profile/edit/accounts). Once you've unlinked your Steam account, go to your Documents folder on your PC, look for "Square Enix," then "FINAL FANTASY VII Steam." Delete this folder. (*Note: This will delete any local saves you have stored on your PC. If you do not have cloud saves enabled, you *must* back this folder up or risk losing an existing saves you have made).

That should be it. Have your father relaunch the game and it should ask for a new Square Enix login.

PERFECT.

Unlinking the accounts was all I needed to do, then I was able to relaunch it and log in with my own account. Thanks a ton!

I ahve the same issue but the old SE account didn't even show steam to be linked and yet, still auto fills when I launch the game. then I deleted the old account. linked my steam to the new account and uninstalled the game, re-installed it and still fills in the old account details. also the file is not where you say it should be. i searched all of my program files too and can't find any such folder. i'm stuck!!!
