I have beaten this game more times than is necessary, and this is the fastest and most effefient way to make loasds of gil.
If you do this to two alls you will have more than enough money
This tactic works in two ways if you cannot see the long term appeal to this....all that grinding you are doing to level up a materia's AP is also making you some spending gil.
The only real reason you need gil is to buy greens for chocobo raising/racing. No real reason to be walking around with more than 15-30k at any one point. And by the time you need that, you will have master'd a master all materia.
