Materia Overlord not working?

Is anybody else having issues with Materia Overlord not working? I've mastered every single materia besides that whole Underwater business, and I have at least 1 copy of Master Command, Magic and Summon, and I've mastered 2/4 Enemy Skill materia so far. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Are you absolutely sure that you have -all- of the Materia? I suggest sorting the Materia. Once you've done that, check the Final Fantasy Wiki for a list of all the available Materia, and check if you really got them all. I had the same problem like you, only to find out that I was missing the "Long Range" Materia.

Also, how did you get your Master Materia? Did you perform a Materia Blend (@ Cosmo Canyon) or did you trade in the Earth Harp obtained from the Emerald Weapon? If you've performed a Materia Blend, you HAVE to master all of the Materia you've used to create those Master Materias AGAIN, because you need all of the Master Materias + a mastered copy of every other Materia in order to obtain the achievement.

I am actually dreading this achievement. I don't think I even bothered mastering all my Materia on the PS1 version. By the time I had time to do it, FFVIII had come out...and yeah.

oh thats why I didnt get this achivement I guess need to go lv up my materia for magic summon and command again. At least magic pots in the crater give 1000 ap per mob and can make use the item glitch to make free elixers

I read somewhere that if you have met all requirements and you didn't get the achievement, go fight a battle and learn an enemy skill in that battle (on any Enemy Skill materia that you didn't master). You're out of luck if you can't learn any more enemy skills.

My materia inventory is currently 1 of everything, mastered. 1 Master Magic, Master Command, Master Summon, 1 complete Enemy Skill, and 1 of every materia except Underwater with "Master" status. I even went and learned Shadow Flare on my 2nd Enemy Skill like you suggested, but I did not recieve the achievement after the battle. Do I need to gain experience or something for it to count? My 3 characters are Lv.99

Yeah, i wish it was just a requirement to get Master Materia + Enemy Skill. Its the most challenging achievement there is and considering how simple half of them are i suppose its ok. At least most of them are not things you would normally get for playing the game like some games today.

well the upside to this is that you make nice materia sets to make the 2 hardest mobs seem like a cake walk.

I got this today. I didn't use Materia Blend. I already had a max Enemy Skill. Getting my Knights of the Round to master rank got the achievement.

Google a list of materia and make absolutely sure you have them all maxed. If you used Materia Blend, you've most likely screwed yourself.

Not necessarily, you can always level up another set.

I used Materia Blend, and now I have a new set of complete materia in my stock. Will killing Emerald Weapon for his 3 Master Materia unlock my achievement?

i have read earlier on a FAQ which says that you need to master all the materia whilst leaving the enemy skill one for last as it is the 'check list' materia for this particular achievement

unfortunately for me, i mastered everything as well as getting multiple "mastered summon/magic/command" sets for every char but this was done after getting enemy skills filled in.

Can anyone confirm if its still possible to get this achieve without the enemy skill bug?

I have 2 Enemy Skill materias that are incomplete. Do I have to simultaneously master my last materia while I'm getting my last Enemy Skill? That seems retarded, because I've already followed all the suggestions thusfar.

Have checked 3 times that I have all materias in game and every one of em mastered, I even left enemy skill to be my last to complete but didnt get an achievement when i learned the last enemy skill...

The achievemnt triggers only when you learn an enemy skill and includes the enemy skill materia. You can miss the Trine and Pandora's Box skills permanently in the game, everything else you can get whenever.

So in short you need :

- Master Command Materia, Master Summon Materia, Master Magic Materia
- All of the materias in the game at master level, so you will need to master a complete second set.
-An enemy skill materia with all the skills learned.

The game checks for the achievement everytime you learn a new enemy skill, so just figure it out from here. Hope that helped.
