the gfx are too ugly to be playable in this day and age. u will never get over it

the only ppl that can still play this game today r those that played it back in the day and play it for nostalgia

i love playstation and early 3d game gfx. i think it looks awesome and they fixed the aa and pixely textures from the original release, it looks very good in this release

You are very correct in a way.
The graphics were designed for crt tv screens, im playing this right now on my old psx and on a crt tv and honestly it looks nice even today.
Of course when you put this on a pc monitor or a flat screen tv it will look awful, so you are right, such miserable graphics will ruin the immersion, so yeah its not worth playing like this, i agree with you.
This problem could have been solved if they added graphic filters like scanlines to this release, but sadly they didnt.

Its using a new renderer for the 3d parts. Backdrops are still low res though. If you play games for graphics and not gameplay, go play some more Call of Doody.

pretty much this, classic BGs, with new rendering for the 3D stuff, and it looks great. better AA to.

never was able to play this game back in the day, just bought it and i see why people loved it so much. Guess you gotta be a true lover of games old and new to really be able to appreciate the core enjoyment this game can supply. There's a crap load of games today that have modern looking graphics and textures but suck and shouldn't even be put on the market. Some people need fancy lights and colors to get them to pay the big bucks i guess

honestly if u play this game its not becuse of the graphics for me its a great rpg even wihout the nostalgia

The music, characters, story, gameplay, humor. and ill say the style (cartoony out of battle, realistic in battle) makes this an A plus game.

What filters? bilinear filtering? that doesnt even work?
People posted pics of how "amazing" it looks, sorry but your statements are false, it does not have the right filters and it does not look amazing at all from what i seen.
Post pics of the amazing looks, maybe people are missing something and you can help?
Maybe i am wrong, and if i am i would be glad to have an "amazing looking" pc version of this game.

You're stupid if you expect Crisis Core/Advent Children graphics on such an old game. It's a damn port, not a remake. lol...

Are you kidding me? People both buy, and play tons of rpgs on ds, using emulators, with cards, pen and paper, theres even PLENTY of games to this date that release with "old 3rd" and 8bit graphics. There is so many people out there, not like you, who play games, hell even read books, for their story.

Stop being a shower bag.
This is not a question of playing for graphics, its a question of getting the same graphics we got when we played this on our psx and crt tvs.
The graphics you get now are simply horrible and much worse than they were when we played this game back then.
When you release game developed for crt tvs on the PC platform, make sure they look the same as what they looked back then, not 10 times worse.

i have my original PS1 version running on my CRT tv next to my HDTV, and the PC version looks better.
