Delete Saved Game
Ok. This is possibly the stupidest question ever, but I have not been able to find a way to do it. I created a second save as a backup to my main save. I simply want to delete the backup. I can not figure out how to do it. I have checked the My Documents Folder > Square Enix > FF7 > User and I only see a save00.ff7 file. No others. I originally had the game setup to sync to the cloud. I have tried every keyboard combination on the select save screen to try and get the delete dialogue to come up, and nothing ever does. How in the heck do I simply delete my back-up saved game?!

Thanks beforehand!!

I'm pretty sure the saves are fixed to the "slot" you save them in. In other words, any extra saves that you make in the same "Save 1" slot is permanently tied.

You are correct. I made my backup a second save in the "Save 1" slot. If that is true, it is rather aggravating that you can't simply delete it out. It's not necessarily a big issue; I will simply just keep using that game save as a refreshed backup. It's just aggravating that you can't delete that particular slot, especially if you were using it temporarilly as I was.

Just load your save on a save point, take out the saves you want to delete and save the game again.

You can delete the .ff7 file in My Documents save folder.

Very simple. While you have the game running, save your game into the "save 2" catagory, instead of "save 1". (this is a precautionary, because I'm just playing it safe) Then open your My Documents folder and delete the save00.ff7 (or whichever is the one your wanting to delete). Then simply resave your game into "save 1" and then go back into My Documents to delete the "save 2" file. Now you're left with only your "save 1" which is most likely your mains save, and nothing else.

P.S. I just tested this not 90 seconds ago. Worked perfectly.

Thanks for all of the replies. The above worked correctly. If anyone else reads this and wants to clean up their saves, I would always recommend making a backup of all of your saves before you do anything, that way you have something to revert back to.

Again, thanks for all of the replies from everyone. You were able to get my issue resolved.

Had figured on a similar work around, just couldn't find the saves on file at first. You would have thought Square might have thought about this though, considering they never had a proper save management system in the original game...

As much as I love this game, can't help but feel angry at them for stuff like this, after reviving the old cash cow and hardly giving it much of a revamp.
...Oh, also good luck if you're using cloud saving. Pain in the ass to figure out how to get rid of a lousy save file, without it copying back in whenever it automatically syncs files from their servers. Don't even know if it's possible.
