Yeah! Why would anyone want a completely optional feature that won't in any way impede the game of solo players, but give people wanting to play it together a chance to do so. Silly game companies.
There have been several jrpg's with multiplayer support though. Dividing the characters on the controllers. My bro and I would pretend we were the character's we controlled.
And Final Fantasy 1 and 2, and Revenant Wings.
The 7 spinoffs, maybe. Although Before Crisis only exists as a fan remake now.
As a side note, I've never played any FF Tactics game, nor am I familiar with how they work, so I'm not 100% sure how it could be done. All I know is that they're strategy games, that's it.
