I'm curious, why isn't anyone or any guide talking about 7777 ?

I've read a lot of guides and many posts here, but for some reason no one seems to be mentioning the 7777 ... effect (?) where if you have 7777 HP your character will do a billion attacks dealing 7777 damage. This is very specific to setup and pretty situational I guess since it seems that once it's been used once you start the next fight at 1 HP.

Is it just because it's not a very known thing? I only knew of it because a friend told me about it, and god knows how he found that out, unless it was sheer random luck. (It's also extremely easy to set up against emerald weapon cause you just need 9999 HP and exactly 2 materias on one character and then wait for Arma something the huge attack that deals 1111 damage per Materia you have equipped

there are guides. one websearch and the first result is the wiki article on it. the second result is a steam guide.

there really isn't much to say about it other then "did you know you can do this trick at 7777hp..." that only new players don't know about.

Most guides I've seen mention it for Emerald Weapon.

Because many of us are old farts and already know about it 😀 I found out through a random fight then I looked it up the next day at the school library (late 90s) I wish I knew about it before attempting to tackle weapon my first time through the game decades ago.

What I love about this game is that it's both so old and so popular that the community for it has pretty much covered every single carnie hole to it, down to even the coding.

There are guides written already on how to come up with and/or manipulate the Lucky 7's trick (7777 HP).

It's actually a semi-common strategy for dealing with some challenging boss fights at lower levels.

There ARE guides on it, perhaps just not on Steam. Older GameFAQs guides certainly have them. I can't remember who owns that old site now. I know IGN bought it out decades ago, and then Gamespot bought out IGN, but erm, who owns/bought out Gamespot? Does Gamespot even exist anymore?

It's known, at least with the older players.
I used it in my achievement run of the game.

Mainly against Emerald Weapon as well, but only because I really wanted to kill him before Diamond Weapon, which is something i've never done in the game before and wanted to do as a sort of personal challenge.
Kinda amusing having the Emerald achievement unlocked before Diamonds ^^

You can trigger All Lucky 7's with multiple characters as well though this has no impact on the damage output.
It will always hit 64 times and deal 497,728 damage regardless of how many characters land on 7,777 health.
If you get multiple characters to trigger it, they will just attack in turns until the 64 attacks are used up.

Also, fun fact but if an enemy has 7,777 health.. they'll deal that same damage back to you :D
