[QUESTION] 7th Heaven Mod SAVE FILE ON FFVII Launcher
So I just bought FFVII and tried out the 7th Heaven with mods as seen with FuzzFinger Gaming's video, and I added Echo-S mod as well. My question is: 'why doesn't the FFVII Launcher detect the Save File?'

I know that you can still access your save file if you opened the game via 7th Heaven, and with Steam Compatibility on, achievements are also carried over to the FFVII Launcher and here on my Steam Profile. However, it kinda bugs me that I can't open my save file when I start the game via the Launcher. Thanks in advance!

7th Heaven modifies the game file that it runs, so it technically is playing a different game. The vanilla launcher doesn't have access to the files that 7th Heaven uses, so that's why it doesn't recognize the save file. In other words, you need to launch using 7th Heaven each time you wanna play with mods.

I see. But my save file is 'inside' the Steam folder: SteamLibrary>steamapps>common>Final Fantasy VII>save>save00.ff7 and yet the FFVII Launcher doesn't detect that? I suppose it's alright since my progress is still detected in my Steam, as well as achievements. I've played and finished FFVII a long time ago so I wanted to try out with mods (after falling into the deep rabbit hole of Skyrim modding lol) Thanks for the info!

steam save files are located at \Documents\Square Enix\FINAL FANTASY VII Steam\user_NUMBERS . You can transfer your save file between the folders, but be warned that sometimes when you place a non-steam save file in the steam folder it deletes it, so save in multiple blocks everytime and keep backups for the first couple of saves after transferring.

Really? Because all I see in my user_Number folder is "achievements.dat" and "metadata.xml". However, in my D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\save folder, there is the save00.ff7 file. I saved again while playing and the timestamp is updated as of writing. :/

That's because you've only used the 7th Heaven launcher, which saves to the install directory. The vanilla version of the game saves to documents.
