Everytime I start up a new game, my Continue? Button is grayed out...
I saved at the maco reactor and quit the game two times, and both times my save file dissapeared for some reason... I have cloud saving off, and when I saved it said that "the file was saved locally" or something like that. This is kind of getting annoying since I can't progress at all. Any help?

Sorry I just figured it out. My whole Square Enix folder under my documents was under "READ ONLY". MAKE SURE you uncheck that. lol :cfacepalm:

Did you do that yourself?

No, probably had something to do with Installing FF14, or some other Square Enix game that I installed before that maybe changed the settings there. Just a heads up for people having the same problem as me

Same problem, and I put in a few days of solid gameplay before it happened to me, not sure what the save files look like exactly, don't see any files I would think w ould be big enough for that, my folder was read only so I changed that per the suggestion above to no avail, it happened right about the same time my steam client got an update I am thinking they are likely related. Had about 50 hours in of solid play was almost maxed on most limit breaks for most characters had a lot of lvl 3 materia and a few maxed out summons alls restores and basic materias not at all happy about losing my save. Never had this problem on PS1.

I tried restoring a previous version but I didn't have any previous versions to restore ^ that would have been a sweet easy solution if it was an option for me. :(

do you have cloud saving enabled or disabled? Disabled is preferred.

If you have System Restore disabled that may be the reason for not being able to restore to a previous..

Theres plenty of PC save files out there that should help get you back on your feet. my suggestion would be to manually save, or save in a few different save slots just incase.

Hate cloud saves (so they were disabled from the start), and system restore is a good idea but I had it disabled while I was trying to move my OS to another hard drive (before I installed and started playing FF7) so no options for system restore. Plus in my case all the gameplay is in the last few days, so not sure if it would be in the window. Should have saved in a few different slots after this I will make a bat file that copies my save games to a safe backup folder just to be on the safe side, I don't know where to get save games, but I don't want someone elses save game I want mine :( going to probably start over again :S *sigh*
