Bizarro Sephiroth gets some bonuses to HP, attack, and defense depending on if you used KOTR on Jenova SYNTHESIS, how many level 99 characters you have, average party level, and whether you have both Yuffie or Vincent, one of the two, or neither.
If you used KOTR on Jenova SYNTHESIS, Safter Sephiroth doubles his hp from 80,000 to 160,000. For each level 99 character you have (including those not in the party you use to fight him), he gains 30,000 HP and some other bonuses to attack and defense that I can't remember.
Basically, the better equipped you are to fight him, the harder he is. You can find his AI script online somewhere and get all the specifics.
The final form of Sephiroth wasn't even that hard, for me, back when I played it on the PS1. And when I say final form, I'm speaking of the 3rd form, not the very last ditch effort where Cloud gives one final attack.
But the second form (fighting Jenova Sephiroth, or whatever it was named) was hard, since all the body parts kept regenerating and I was seldom every quick enough. For that, I ended up maxing everybody's highest OD's right before the fight, and ensured I saved them (by using magic instead) for this fight.
I never did get the KotRT summon.
I mean i legit just played the story, ran away from pretty much every random encounter, and only did the main story lol, never made use of the ribbon item ect ect lol.
This explains why the first time I fought him I was fighting him for 45 minutes straight. Didn't lose, it just took forever.
Just make sure you use big guard (enemy skill Hast + barrier + Mbarrier) and Regen at the start. white wind (also enemy skill) can avoid the annyoing cure reduction from Mbarrier. Ribbons are obviously very useful.
Of course, I beat him on Low Level run without powerleveling any materia. The materia with the most AP I had was Cure2.
