Recommended stops the time bars from filling during attacks, but not while menus are open.
Wait stops the time bar during attack animations AND while scrolling through menus.
Edit: Maybe it has to be set while playing through the ff7 website. At any rate, I don't worry about it.
This is some BIG BS. Any mods to fix that? Don't care about necroing this thread.
I haven't played this in a couple of years, so you could be right. I did a quick websearch and found similar threads as well as checked the FF7 manual which leads me to believe I am correct.
This game starts very slowly, besides the attack and item command you hardly have magic. So what takes you so long to think about an action? And when you finally will have gathered some nice materia you should be long enough in this for being able to handle the easy combat system.
Are kids nowadays not able anymore to handle some quite harmless time pressure?
And if this is still too much, then there is a pause button during battles...
On the PS1 if it was set to 'wait' you could afk on your turn
you are actually wrong. even in original ps1 version the wait applies only when you are in menus that chooses targets, magics, summons and items not in the list of commands itself
