Switch is actually Square if we're speaking in terms of the original PSX controls, Triangle was menu and OK was circle, but if you're speaking of controls you re-mapped then I apologize.
At first I was a bit confused as you were, but the only command that threw me off was Switch really, unless you're already way past it I'd reload from a past save, unless it's really far back, then save just before the simon-says mini-game, but really the Force Stealer isn't really too important, it just helps early on and you can buy it later anyway.
It fixes the game so that the prompts on the screen match the xbox controller. It also sets the controls to a more north american style (A select, B cancel, etc).
