What is in your opinion the most useless materia?
I think it's HP<->MP, what do you think?

That materia is useless on its own, its when you combine it with other materia thats when its good. It's the same for all the materia aside from the underwater one which is useless since the weapon can be easily beaten within 20mins.

Exit Materia

There are a few, but i'll put a case forward for Transform.

HP<->MP i found had a use; on the Corel tracks farming Yuffie's limit break. I was at a fairly high level so not much danger dying with my minimal HP, but the resaon it was useful is because your limit guage fills up as a percentage of max HP...so hyper turbo.

As pointed out by LilG Underwater materia is probably the most useless one. Doesn't give any stats and serves only to bypass emerald weapon timer, which sucks because emerald weapon is meant to be a challenge, if you take away the timer then you can just stall forever and eventually kill it.

The Fourth Enemy skill?
If there's was a fourth Charecter this would make sense but the fourth is utter pointless.

Unless you happen to miss one, then it's entirely useful. :p

I agree with Transform and Exit, just because I never find a use for them.

If you missed the 'fourth' one, then their wouldn't be a 'fourth' one. I don't mean the fourth one you can pick up in the game. I mean if you have four enemy skills the fourth one is useless. If you miss the first one you can pick up you only have three meaning you don't have a fourth one.

Semantics! But fair does.

As for the HP<=>MP thing - a few of the characters' ultimate weapon damage is based on their MP. Put it on Yuffie or Red XIII and their damage will skyrocket with those weapons. Although simply having 999MP might max it out.

Aeris's materia. It doesn't do anything at all. (Yes, I know about Holy etc. I am simply quoting Aeris to be an FF7 NErd)
well i very rarely use transform materia so id say that.

To edit: Yuffie's is not based on MP, but Red 13, Cait Sith, and Cid's are powered up via MP.

So it will make some boss/enemy fights real easy earlier in the game if you have their ultimate weapons and slap on the HP-MP conversion materia.

I Found 'Added cut' to be fairly eronous. unless you used steal combined with it, but you probably had mug by then anyway.

Mega-all was for the most part useless as it disabled doublecut and flash, and became slash-all.

Barrier/wall magic was also useless, as big guard enemy skill was cheaper and booned haste.
