HP<->MP i found had a use; on the Corel tracks farming Yuffie's limit break. I was at a fairly high level so not much danger dying with my minimal HP, but the resaon it was useful is because your limit guage fills up as a percentage of max HP...so hyper turbo.
If there's was a fourth Charecter this would make sense but the fourth is utter pointless.
Unless you happen to miss one, then it's entirely useful. :p
I agree with Transform and Exit, just because I never find a use for them.
If you missed the 'fourth' one, then their wouldn't be a 'fourth' one. I don't mean the fourth one you can pick up in the game. I mean if you have four enemy skills the fourth one is useless. If you miss the first one you can pick up you only have three meaning you don't have a fourth one.
Semantics! But fair does.
Nice tip.
To edit: Yuffie's is not based on MP, but Red 13, Cait Sith, and Cid's are powered up via MP.
So it will make some boss/enemy fights real easy earlier in the game if you have their ultimate weapons and slap on the HP-MP conversion materia.
Mega-all was for the most part useless as it disabled doublecut and flash, and became slash-all.
Barrier/wall magic was also useless, as big guard enemy skill was cheaper and booned haste.
