Hey I'm on Northern Cave and I need help.

My party is Cloud, Tifa, and Cid, all of whom are around level 50. I've done just about 0 of the sidequests and I've got none of the ultimate weapons. If I fight Sephiroth I'd go down on the first turn. Which sidequests do I need to do, and what level do I need to be?

I would recommend you get to around level 65. That was my level at the end of the game and it wasn't too challenging.

A) Go to the Wutai area
B) farm X-Potions/Elixers
C) Do this untill you get around 60 X-Potions (you'll probably have 20 Elixers to)
D) Slaughter the Northern Crater.

Get Yuffie. Go to the Gelinka underwater. Get her conformer inside. Then go to the destroyed reactor and morph the tank. Do this constantly. Use the source on Cloud.

Breed a Gold Chocobo and use it to get the Knights of the Round materia. It'll make the Sephiroth battle a piece of cake.

I would do it this way, or do battle square until you get final attack link it to phoenix and by the time you've been through the baattle arena enough to get final attack you will have some other very handy things to help in this fight :)

For Easy EXP and AP

in the northern crater take the left path

• the room is either gold or green

(unfortunately i'm colour blind)

Several Enemies are of interest

1. Gi-ghee steal Elixirs
2. Master Tonberry
   • steal elixirs
   • morph ribbon
3. Magic Pot
   • use elixir on
   • beat the snot out of him
   • 8000 EXP 1000 AP
4. Movers (look like red materia) 0 EXP 900 AP

multiply these effects with weapons and materia

• Extra EXP EXP plus materia obtained from chocobo racing
• Extra AP use Clouds Apocalypse weapon and cids Scimitar weapon for triple growth
  
  cheat for infinite elixirs. (text is hidden, hover mouse over to reveal)
  1. pick up w-item materia when you assult midgar for final time.
     • also available in bone village after assulting midgar.
     • employ the diggers to search for treasure (cant remember if its normal or special treasure,SORRY!)
  2. use w-item in battle
     • cast elixir on enemy
     • select a 2nd elixir
     • cancel
     • select
     • cancel
     • repeat until either bored or at 99 Elixirs
  
  

  Farming Power, Magic, Luck, etc, sources

  Find a downed plane its called the Gelnika its location is in the Junon sea
  • requires the submarine
  inside you will find Yuffies ultimate weapon, the conformer
  hidden ability; morph attacks at normal damge
  
  attack enemies aboard using this ability into all the different varieties of sources.
  power sources are easiest obtained at Gongaga
  • use morph on heavy tank
  • Area with the broken reactor
