Need Help Getting Past Keyboard Screen...?

I bought Final Fantasy VII, downloaded it and everything seemed fine. I clicked play and the intro cinematics played and I got to the musical credit screen. After trying every keyboard combination, I quit the game and plugged in my Xbox 360 wired controller. This time I made it past the intros and the musical credit screen, but now I'm stuck on a screen that says :KEYBOARD; and lists the controls. Is there any way to advance past this? I don't remember this from the Playstation version, and I beat that game twice back in the day :(

If you didn't figure it out yet, I always need to hit X,C or V (keyboard) on that screen. After that my xbox controller works. (I only can't figure out the escape combination on the gamepad. But it's page up + page down on the keyboard)
You might need to look at the keyboard layout in the game launcher settings if it doesn't work.

Thank you, I am redownloading just in case and will try playing with just keyboard, followed by using the controller.

I have to press X first, then the controller works normally from that point on.

It's Back+RB on the xb360 controller :)
