CreateProcess Returned an error

So, bought this game some time ago and thought I'd give it a try.
But I encounter this error when I click the play button on the launcher.

FINAL FANTASY VII Launcher
CreateProcess returned an error...

ERROR CODE: 740

Tried googling it but all I can find is something about error code 2 wich concerns McAfee users (wich I am not). Tried running as an administrator and compability modes but to no avail.
Turning to you now in hope for help so that I can once more spank ol' Sephiroth.

Soooo I know it's like a year later but I just ran in to this problem myself. What worked: I had set the actual game to run as admin, but not the launcher. The next time I tried to launch the game, I ran in to the error message. Set the launcher to run as admin and it ran again.
