Piano Controls Broken

Pretty frustrated at the moment, and I want to ask for y'all's help. I'm in the Shinra Mansion in the Nibelheim flashback pretty early in the game. I'm at the piano, and it's impossible due to the controls.

This is a blind/unspoiled play, so please do not spoil me on any plot stuff.

I want to try playing Tifa's song to see if anything happens. The problem is that in the version I'm playing, the Steam/PC version, the "Re" note is mapped to the [SWITCH] key. No matter what I try mapping it to, whether [SWITCH] is "Insert" or "N" or anything else, it doesn't play a note. Every other key does, but not [SWITCH]. Instead, I get the flash of white on the screen and a harsh sound.

I know this is probably optional, and if I can't do anything with the piano at all I'll still probably beat the game, but it's still RIDICULOUSLY FRUSTRATING to know that something like this is inaccessible simply because I have the PC version.

Any help is tremendously appreciated.

EDIT: It occurs to me - I guess it's possible that this isn't a keyboard issue, but maybe the white flash is supposed to happen, since it does seem reminiscent of times when memory/reality collide for Cloud.

In this case, it'd be awesome if you let me know whether this is an intended part of gameplay right now, or something I have to fix with the PC version.

You should be able to hit every key. It's completely optional but you won't be able to get a certain item (again optional) which will stop you from getting one of the achievements.

Wrong piano im afraid. You want the one in Tifas house. Someone correct me if im wrong but i think the shinra mansion piano serves no purpose and is broken ( some notes wont play ) If you play tifas piano it should give you the right tune to play.
