Is there a way to disable music

Why would you disable music... this game's music is amazing. But I suppose you could go on your desktop, right click on the sound icon, hit open volume mixer, and put the volume for FF7 down to the lowest

Its not that amazing. Its nice but when you are in a menu for example the tutorials trying to read them and the music just keeps playing the same song over and over. Personally it drives me nuts. its the same short music on a loop. I do not want to disable all the other sounds of the game so that won't work.

The music in FF7 is part of what made the game a classic. At one point, people used the "battle win music" for ring tones on their mobiles for a while.

I very familiar with FF7. I purchased the original when it first came out on PS1. I still have my FF7, FF8, FF9 PS1 discs and boxes.The music is not the reason I loved the game. The tunes are nice. But all they baiscally are is about a 30 second melody that plays on a loop. I do not want music playing when I am talking to people or when I am in menus.

Config -> Sound -> Move the first slider all the way to the left.
