Yes, almost done with my first playthrough. Made graphics way better, 60 FPS and a little bit more minimal of a UI. Makes the game feel like a modern 1:1 remake with upgraded graphics and smoother gameplay. Absolutely in love with FFVII. Can even get better looking models for battle and over world. I am now a huge fan of FFVII OG and look forward to playing the remake and crisis core.

Don't skip Before Crisis and On The Way To a Smile. Most people do.

Before Crisis is a Japan-exclusive mobile game(pre-smartphone era), so there is no way to get the game now(unless you collect old phones and extract installed game data), but I heard there's fanmade version.

On the way to a Smile is a collection of stories that takes place between the ending of FF7 and Advent Children. Maybe you can find translation somewhere?
