The Chocobo Breeding Problem...

Hey, I'm trying to get my golden Chocobo. But now I've been stuck (in the very beginning)
I only have the blue Female one and troubel getting a green.
So my question is, if I get a Female Green, can I still keep it and try to breed this one with my yellow male one, to get a better chance for a male green? After two hours I gett really tired of save, load, breed, repeat and I'm scared of getting a female-green...

My two yellows I breeded my blue one with were (by mistake) a Wonderful and a good one, both class A.
I thought the problem is the Wonderful one, so I catched a great one, made it class A and started breeding this one with my good male. But all I get is YELLOW babys.... (Keeping the wonderful one, for later with the Black one...)

The guaranteed way to get chocobos is to level them up to S. To do this, race the chocobos and win. They will be S and S.

The shortcuts written on the internet may not work. The sure way I explained above. When you get S and S, save it and try it again and again. It doesn't take 2 hours.

Allright, I'll try getting my two other yellows to S! I will tell you, if it worked :D

In order to get a gold chocobo, you need to do the following:

2 yellow birds that I believe rank as good and great, or great and great - mate them with a carob nut. Their racing rank just means the percentage of likelihood of getting a blue or green bird.

After that, fight some battles because you can't mate again right after.

Mate them again to the get the other color in the opposite gender.

Fight some battles.

Race and rank up the blue and green birds, and mate them with a carob nut. All goes well, you should have a black chocobo.

Now you need to find a wonderful normal bird, race that and rank up, then mate with the black chocobo with a zeio nut. If you're lucky, you'll have a gold bird.

Carob nuts can be stolen from a large enemy outside of Bone Village.

Zeio nuts can be stolen from goblins on Goblin Island.

Oh, and feed them greens before racing so you actually win races.

Hmm.. new Problem, I can't get my male-yellow to class S ... He always looses, on automatic and manuall... he is too slow with 98! I tryed catching other males, but they are even worse!!! Now I have a Female on calss S and a Male on A... Do they have to be in the same Class?

Hmm.. new Problem, I can't get my male-yellow to class S ... He always looses, on automatic and manuall... he is too slow with 98! I tryed catching other males, but they are even worse!!! Now I have a Female on calss S and a Male on A... Do they have to be in the same Class?

You need to feed them greens to boost their stats before racing.

Yea I know! I did it ALL! I catched the right Chocobos, I feed them with 99 Syl-Greens and so on... It's simply not working

Now I have a "Good Class A Male Yellow (Speed 96)", a "Wonderfull Class S Female Yellow" and a "Great Class S Female Yellow"
No matter wich of them I breed, I only get Yellow babys. There is NO WAY to get that slow male to class S, because he is so DAMN slow. I fed them ALL with 99 Syl-greens, so they are on their Max stats. I tryed feeding the male again, but the game says "nothing happens"

I allready have a Blue Female Class S, wich I breeded from my Male, and the Wonderful Female (she was Class A that time)

I even tryed get other "good" males, but they are even slower... And I don't know if it would work with 2 Wonderful Chocos, or two Greats.

Depending on race rank, your percentage for mating will be higher if they're a higher rank. In the end, it's all RNG so just keep trying with a carob nut and hope for the best.

Once you get a green male, you're half way there. It won't take too long.

Getting the blue and green with the right gender is hard and if you get stuck like me (getting the same color and the same gender over and over again every save scum) then you have to enter then exit then enter(again) the chocobo farm before mating them.
