Hmmm never looked into it as I don't think there is much value in it for this particular game since most enemy types could honestly be seen as basically the same with different skins but if you like FF9 has an entire balance redesign mod (Moghuri or w/e I think it was? usually a topic on first page on that forum so should be easy enough to figure out). FF8 has unique monsters that are actually meaningfully varied and balanced so if you like that game it might be worth finding such a mod there, esp since most enemies will scale to your level as well. It just breaks the theme of their placement with background/story design but oh well.

Still if you want one for FFVII, regardless, hopefully someone can give you more info.

Use the Godo randomiser: https://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=19468.0

be aware though that it can include hidden values on weapons but it's pretty funny to play, my last save with this is ended up with an ultima weapon in the train graveyard, and it healed whatever I hit with it. you can set a lot of random elements with this mod, it's hilarious.

Don't bother with this randomizer. Extremely high risk the game will crash. Developer himself said it too so don't know why it's still available to download. There appears to be no good randomizer for FFVII unfortuanely. It's up to some potential developer to find what can work or not.

Why shouldn't it be available? The warning is there, all mods especially ones that change values that the game isn't expecting can cause a game to crash, FFVII gets very upset when the unexpected happens, I doubt there will ever be a randomizer that doesn't cause it to crash a lot.

Well I have played some with better randomizers. Just that there doesn't appear to be anything good for FFVII at the moment.

also with how large this game is a randomiser would be hell

The size is nothing, the entire game was on all 3 PS1 discs, most of the size is the FMVs, the problem comes from the code, it's basically just a bunch of 'IF this, THEN that' statements.
