is there any way to get back to the great glacier?
i think i may have missed added cut.....

Yes, with a green chocobo i believe, or the highwind, you can land inbetween the village and the great glacier in the world map.

You can't get back up to Gaia's Cliff though.

You did miss added cut but you can go back there later in the game, even if you're not directly told that you can. Keep an eye out, added cut is very well hidden.
