Best emerald weapon strategy?

Self-explanatory. I haven't beaten him yet and I'm curious to hear other people's experiences with this boss. What strategy did YOU use? :)

I think i had max 5-6 materia on each character to prevent Air Tam Stomp woping me out. I did equip underwater materia, but had a little over 5 minutes left when i killed him.

My intention was to give Cloud 2 materia so he would naturally hit 7 fever when he did this attack, but it never materialised!

I think i went in with all limits full and started off by miming Omnislash. After that i actually can't remember. I think i had Mime and Counter's linked along with KOTR and HP absorb.

Pound him with Omnislash.

mime
final attack (linked) pheonix materia

have plenty of mega elixirs ready


have character one w-summon knights of the round, and have all characters mime it over and over again and use mega elixirs when necessary, when character 3 dies it will revive all dead characters. having final attack and pheonix mastered means you can be revived 5 times.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what I was thinking when I wrote that haha, I meant a mastered phonixe with a mastered final attack.

WAY overkill you don't need any of that stuff for Emerald. Megalixir's are the only thing in your list that's useful.

You could go way OTT with a combo i used once.(All Materia used Mastered)

w-summon - Master Summon
KOTR - Hp Absorb
KOTR - Mp Absorb
KOTR - Mp Turbo
Magic Counter - KOTR
Final Attack - Revive
Mp plus - Hp plus
mime - W-item

his is not recommended to do, but you will be invincable.

all i used are hero drinks, megalixirs, and limit breaks (omnislash, angermax, highwind). Easy victory.

Demi and quadra magic also KOTR and other things I can't remember it's been so long. Omnislash, KOTR, Demi i guess since level 1 does 9999. Again it's been a very long time but soon I will beast him again like I always do. There are a number of ways to defeat this green giant.

Emerald is vulnerable to gravity. Get cloud to about level 65. Have Quadra magic at 3 stars as well as a mastered mime materia (2 total). Get yourself KOTR and have it at 2 stars. W-summon will make this battle very easy.

Equip cloud with Quadra magic linked to gravity as well as w-summon and KOTR. Finish his materia off with HP plus (mastered).

You should have stolen 3 Circlets from the Snow enemy in the glacier. Equip them on each party member. Equip your supporting party members with Mime, HP plus, and a mastered magic plus each. Equip one party member with E-skill.

Before the battle, move all party members to the back row and cast sadness on them using a Tranquilizer.

Begin the battle by casting the "Big Guard" E-skill. Follow that up with Quadra magic demi and mime x2. Repeat that twice before Emerald's eyes open up. After the gravity attacks use W-summon-KOTR and mimic the attack until he is gone. All of your party members should survive the battle using this method. Also, you can get this done as soon as you get the submarine before your return to rocket town. Under 35 hours of gameplay.

hmm my old psx had like this hp mp up, 1 maxed kotr 2x mimic , final attack + phoenix x5 and some megalixirs
use kotr+ mimic and with 3rd char i used the elixirs
