Anyway, getting Omnislash during your first, or indeed your second story-related trip to the Golden Saucer is going to be a painful slog. Pretty much the only way to get GP is to play the bike game, and that only rewards 10 GP a go. It's later when you can either race chocobos, or play the snowboarding game (neither of which unlocks until Disc 2) that you can start getting a lot of GP. That has the added bonus of Omnislash's cost being cut in half.
But, you mentioned Omnislash in your post. I'd like to point out that Omnislash is bought with BP, not GP. BP is earned exclusively through fights in the Battle Square. You probably won't use more than a few hundred GP for the Battle square entry fees.
I tested it on my second playthrough. He never shows up on disc 1. I remember reading
somewhere about the airship triggering his appearance. I think it was Neoseeker.
Oop, my bad. You're right.
Yeah, he's very rare. I was terrible at all of the mini games so I just got all of my GP from him. After I got it, I realized that Omni Slash just wasn't worth the effort.
I never got 300GP from playing the SUPER Fing DUNK game but stocked up to 220GP'ish' and cleared the battle arena with 40GP remaining. I'm thinking whether I should get the champion belt as well. but I'm seriously burnt out. haha. I'm liming lvling for some other chars and when I'm done, I might try to get the belt as well. I heard you can't get it in Disc2.
By the way, I was mentioning GP cuz I needed it to earn BP. I realized that I should stock at least 200 to get Cloud's ultimate.
Having so much fun so far, def brings back the good old memories from my childhood. :)
...It's the highest DMG attack in the game...
While Omnislash does the EXACT same damage/hit and # of hits as KotR, I agree. It isn't worth the effort*, but if you buy both Omnislash and W-Summon, you can enter the Special Battle where you can win 'Final Attack' Materia, and that is worth all that effort and more.
Did either of you read the topic?
DISK 1. Meaning before Aeris dies. Meaning No Chocobo stables, and No Airship.
My advise would have been BET on chocobo's, trade for GP.
you'll lose a few times, get 10GP a few times, get 15GP a few times, keep going till you get 20GP from 1 item. Would probably have around 250 - 350 just from ChocoBetting. Not that it matters anymore.
OP has succeded in what they asked for help with.
*why is it not worth the effort? look below for answers.
OMNISLASH
Lots of effort x all in 1 sitting = BEST attack, needs charging of Limit bar before use.
Can only be used by cloud.
Cloud needs 240 killing blows,
8xL1LimitUse, 8xL2LimitUse and 8xL3LimitUse
before he can use it.
OR
KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND
Lots of effort - can be split into as many sittings as you want = BEST attack, Cost240MP
Can be Paired with Support Materia.
Can be used Twice in a Turn (W-Summon)
Omni and KotR are, according to the game code, identical in damage amount, damage type and number of hits. KotR can be used by anyone though, and doesn't have the L4 Limit restrictions. Sure, it costs 240MP, but pair it with MP Absorb.........
The only times KotR is worse than Omni?
- Time Limits (Train Sequence)
- Before you have anyone with 240 or higher max MP.(Which can be fixed by adding
Magic, Summon or MP Plus materia)
MIME works with both, with 0MP cost, but only Cloud can Mime Omni.
Miming a W-Summonned (KotR)-(MP Absorb) works wonders!
(2x Best Attack in the Game + Loads of MP all in a single turn!)
Replacing 'MP Absorb' with 'HP Absorb' or 'SteelAsWell' works too.
As Does 'Counter'(Blue), especially when you also have a MASTERED 'Cover'
So yeah, I'd damn-well hope that Knights is more worth the effort given how much more effort it can take to earn it.
