KOTR isn't essential just makes the fight so much easier.
You can equip your group with the hades+added effect materia combination in your armor to protect against some of the status effects.
Keep wall up or big guard & use your strongest limit breaks & spells like comet, ultima etc. Bring a stack of remedies to cure any bad status effects too.
Depending on your lvs the boss's stats change. But I'd go & farm some ribbons since they protect against almost everything aside from slow & death.
Just a minor correction though LilG, you only need one of a particular item for the W-item bug to work.
Thanks Martin, I forgot about that, meant to edit it. It's such a handy bug.
Use Destruct materia and other items to break Safer Seph's barriers. I didn't attack while they where up, so I don't know how much damage they blocked.
If you're using Vincent, I would strongly advise against using his limit. Using it loses control of him, and you might need him to use mega elixers/ elixers.
I used my Northen Cave save point item when the team splits up, and I had about twenty tents. After getting my ass kicked by Safer Seph, I farmed up and used 18 tents. That leveled up my party up by 10 levels and got a good amount of items (remedies and other things), which helped a lot. Good luck man.
