Problems with the Mr. Dolphin Jump

So I'm having an issue with FF7 and the Mr. Dolphin jump and I can't tell if it's related to The Reunion mod or not. I have looked up guides, stood in the EXACT spot, Tried the double tap square cheese, EVERYTHING and STILL cant land that stupid jump. Is this a general issue? I can't seem to fix it regardless of how I handle it

Having the same issue regardless of what I try

EDIT: found out they changed it in reunion and different things can effect it (the initial double jump has been "patched out"). Here is where worked for me
