Vincent's Limit Break missing?

Hi, everyone! I suppose that I am answering myself to this but I spoke for the first time to Lucretia in the third CD instead of the second CD. I exit the cave an re-enter it but nothing is in the altar. Is it missing forever or is there anything that I can do besides restarting a completely new file?

Visit the Crystal Cave with Vincent in the party, after the events go somewhere out, fight ten battles, return and examinethe altar to receive the manual, along with the Death Penalty weapon which is Vincent's ultimate weapon.

Most walkthroughs say you gotta wait an hour for the stuff to show up, but i typically just activate the cutscene, then go pick up the apocalypse weapon from the forgotten forest and come back to get Vincent's ultimate weapon and lvl 4 limit.
