Sneak Attack materia and chocobo racing

Hey there !

I'm currently trying to get the sneak attack as a chocobo races prize. Still, after hours of racing I can't seem to earn it.
Since the prizing is random AND mislabelled (+ the french translation is dodgy), it's quite confusing. Am I guaranteed to win this materia at some point ?

As I remember it should come off an A or A+/S rank race and it doesn't matter wether you're winning by racing yourself or betting.

So I would like to know if anyone knows how to increase my odds to finally get it.
And if not, am I at least trying the right way ?
