Mods outside 7th Heaven?

Hi all,

I saw steam does not work work with 7th Heaven mods, I try the Game Driver-> Steam Compatibility but a message pops up as I click Game Driver saying "Could not load the FFNX.toml file blablabla". I try everything (reinstall both game and 7th Heaven) but as Sum41 said "there's no solution", so, there are mods outside 7th Heaven?

Why do you not just not use Steam. You don't need it.

If you want a mod manager that will launch normally from Steam, then use reunion[thereunion.live]. It won't install mods as conveniently as 7th Heaven, but it's compatible with Satsuki Yatoshi's improved textures, and models packs like Ninostyle's.

My OCD does not allow me to complete a game while I see achievements about it blocked.

I do have the Steam version. 7th Heaven still won't load. The log mentions a failed mount, so I dunno.

Had a similar ( the same? ) mount issue, all I needed to do was run 7th Heaven as Admin. I've set it to always run as Admin now. Give it a go. 7th Heaven & Steam work perfectly fine. It's disabled by default, but since I enabled it, am getting the playtime / achievements no problem. Something is broken in your install / setup.

Also make sure 7th Heaven is using a copy of the game folder data, not the main Steam game folder data. It will recommend that on game launch / make sure you set it up. Once this is done you can delete the mods folder under the main Steam game / folder to free up space.

Nope. I've tried installing on every drive I have. I've installed and re-installed SEVERAL times for both the game and 7th Heaven. I've started as admin, updated all drives, etc. Still hangs up as stated before...some weird mounting issue.

Mods are not only for aesthetics, they're a necessity in Square Enix's old games. Square Enix just doesn't care to adapt them to modern computers, it's incredible that I need a mod to play their most famous game in fullscreen. I could play the PS1 version on RetroArch anytime, and patched in Portuguese (which was hard to find when I was a child), but I'm gonna give them a chance, THANKS TO THE MODDERS. I got those from Nexus based on the Reunion system, the textures look great without messing with the classic artwork, a true remaster.

Square doesn't update, but they did patch this for modern systems, and the game went full screen without issue every time I tried to play this. I think it's just Windows changing and breaking games.

Yeah, you're right.

About mods, I think OP should just use 7th Heaven, through settings we can link it to Steam so achievements and screenshots can work normally. And the mods... God, they're beautiful, I love the dedication modders have to make true remasters without messing with the original art.

I use 7th heaven on my steam deck with several mods installed, and achievements work just fine for me.

Steam & 7th Heaven work fine, it's obviously something on your end. There is also a setting within 7th heaven to enable the steam link - Achievements & overlay to function.

I experienced the FFNX.toml error after a 7th heaven update, which didn't let me run the game, I was able to fix it by switching to the beta channel in 7th heaven options.

You could give it a try and see if it works for you

Finally I could, I am spanish so all I have to do was set the game on steam in english and reinstall 7th Heaven.

Steam works fine with 7th Heaven, including achievements. You may have to enable an option somewhere, but it's easy to do.
