- start Final Fantasy VII
- press "X" on your keyboard at the "keyboard" screen
- plugg in your controller
Should* work this way (:
look for it on the shop
its about 3USD
Sadly it doesn't work, I can get past the 'keyboard' screen in the beginning with Xone controller unplugged but when I plug it back it it won't work, I'm able to keep playing with keyboard at that point though but yeah I want to use my gamepad.
I'm not sure that program will actually be able to help me because the game detects my controller, in the launcher of the game I can remap the buttons on my controller as well.
And if the program would emulate my controller as keyboard buttons I don't think it will work because the game refuses to even let me continue with my keyboard buttons when I launch the game with my controller plugged in.
I just tried and didn't work sadly :/
Your method seems to work now Tinvai.
I ended up deleting the game and redownloading it, i've had messed around with multiple settings files and tried all kinds of player created patches and mods and stuff so no doubt something was wrong with that as well.
Hoewever in my case I have to start the game with my controller plugged in, I have to press the A button to skip the intro thing and go to that keyboard screen.
> Unplug controller
> Alt tab out of game & tab back in (otherwise keyboard buttons still don't work)
> Press x and keep using keyboard to navigate and load my safe file, once that is loaded I can plug controller back in and play with it this way.
But bit thanks to you, thank to your methord I've tried it around a bit and without it I would have never thought of trying something like that. :)
Still, if anybody knows any kind of mod or fix in how I can get my Controller to work in the game without this workaround then please share it. :)
*Start the game up with the controller connected
*Press any button on the controller to skip the intro's
*Disconnect the controller at the controls screen - then press X on the keyboard.
*Next reconnect the controller and play.
I had no such luck using controller companion.
