How to get to Midgar after Diamond Weapon battle?

So I've just defeated the Diamond Weapon and should be getting to Midgar now by flying the Highwind there.
But instead of triggering the story event nothing happens.

Is there something that I might have missed, that is required for the Midgar section to happen?

My last steps, before Diamond Weapon, were: Junon Submarine battle, Rocket Town, Wutai sidequest, Lucretia visit, Cosmo Canyon, Forgotten City and a bit of leveling in the Sunken Gelnika.

You just land on green grass, then go in foot to midgar you need a key tho.

IIRC after Diamond you need to go to the North Crater first.

That's the key to sector 5 and you can't go to the Shin-Ra headquarters this way.
