Accidentally overwrote my save, any way to recover it?
So I decided to make a new save, to get all the materia and get an achievement for mastering them all, then I looked away while saving, not knowing it would start out right on top of my completed save, now it is gone and I don't know how to get it back if I even can. If anyone knows how to fix this if it can be fixed, please comment.

You could try a system restore from a previous date, it worked for me when my save file vanished.

How do I do that?

Is it a feature built into steam?

I am pretty sure he meant system restore the computer. Doing that may recover the file you saved over.

But how do I do it?
Also I will end up losing FF5 save data in the process maybe.

Click Start, next All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then System Restore

the restore did nothing. so it seems. maybe because the save was a document. and documents are unaffected. ♥♥♥♥.

is there a way to make it affect documents?

Nope, the system restore only affect programs not the files! If you overwrite it, it's just too bad, you just have to do it again!
