Save points..?

So, I found the first save point in the reactor. I saved, then finished that section and got to the hideout to start the next day. But, in all that time, I never noticed another save point. I figured maybe the game was auto saving at this point, and I needed to close the game for awhile. Come back to find it loads me all the way back at the reactor. Are save points really that scarce in the game, or was I maybe right next to one the whole time and just missed it..?

Save points can be few & far between but its best to make several saves just in case you mess up.
I usually save on the world map outside a town before entering dungeons etc.

There is actually a save point you missed and that was on the screen just left of the Train Station (before Sector 7 Slums), to the north.
