Really? I would think it's the Northern Cae and the Movers (orange dot things). I think you yield high everything (AP, EXP, and Gil).

I may be wrong.

Well you arent necessarily wrong, but you arent being as effective as you could.

The area around Mideel is actually the best leveling area in the game, for a few reasons.

1) The exp is great, specially when you get 5 of those little bastards.
2) The AP here is the best bar none. Throw on your Triple weapons, and you are laughing.
3) High encounter rate, even without enemy lure.
4) Each fight is about 2 minutes.

So, if you JUST want to level up to 99, and waste a lot of time doing it, sure, goto the northern caverns, spend about 5 minutes a fight, and gain your exp :D Keep in mind, that wont yield much for AP gain on materia.

Northern Crater swamp is the best possible area to level up, and if you intend to master some materias along the way it is definetely the place you're looking for. Sure the battles are a bit more complicated than Slash-All zerg Mideel, but the AP gain and XP over time are way better.

->To reach the swamp area, just follow your normal way down and at the INTERSECTION go on the LEFT PATH, and then go on THE UPPER ROOM.

To kill the Magic Pots, you must give them an Elixir, and you can finish them off pretty fast (they only have 4096 HP). They give you a whopping 8,000 EXP, 1,000 AP, and 8,500 Gil each, and generally come in groups of two. To have unlimited Elixirs use the documented W-Item materia dupplication trick. Battles take around 2minutes tops once you get the mechanics of the pot battle.

I conferm of what Kai Shikai said, that is the best way to level in my perspective, I 99'ed all my charters and mastered ALOT of materia while doing it.

Magic pots appear in the "swamp" room in the Northern Cave. You run into them almost every fight. Run if you don't.

EXP 8,000
AP 1,000
Gil 8,500

in Trade for an Elixir.

The best ways to get these without using cheats is to morph enemies two of them.

Vlakorados - Outside Bone Village. You run into him pretty much every fight. It has 33,333hp but, does almost no damage at all. With yuffie and her conformer you can morph them easy as pie.

Harpy - Gold Saucer Area. You run into these all the time too. They have only 800 hp so anyone can morph them easy as pie.

I did this and I got 99 in no time at all.

8000 * 99 = 792000 + exp plus materia = 1,584,000

Clouds xp needed to reach 99 is 2,452,783 most of what you have alrdy. I started farming magic pots at lvl 50 cloud got to lvl 99 with the xp plus materia on him after I used up my 99 Elixirs also I had mastered one of every materia accpet the enemy skill one.

Movers appear in the "swamp" room in the Northern Cave. They always appear in a group of three, giving the party 2,400 AP and 90,000 gil (although 0 exp) after the battle.

Best ap in game from movers they are rare but, always great to get.

That's how I did it otherwise just farm your favorite spot I say.

You want to go to the Northern Crater, and take the Left Path. From there, you want to take the "upper path".

This is where you get to kill the Magic Pots which provide 8,000 xp and 1,000 Ap as well as a good chunk of money. Additionally, there are these ball looking things called Movers. They are worth 0 Exp, but give 2,400 Ap and like 15,000 gil or something.

Finally, you can steal Elixirs from Master Tonberries and these Horse lookings things you fight with these Joker looking guys. The horse things are called Gighees.

The final place to level is the Sunken Plane. If you have Yuffee in the party with her "Conformer" you can easily morph things in this area into different Sources to permanently increase your stats. However, it helps to have at least a ribbon for each party member when doing this (which you can get from Battle Square or morphing Master Tonberries).

Thanks for reading,

this is hands down the best way to grind out them high levels. them stupid pots takin all ur elixers haha. but yea im about to do the same

In regards to EMDream comment, if you plan on farming the Northern Crater swamp without using the W-Item dupplication trick (considered a glitch and therefore gamebreaking/cheat) you are better of with KaosReigns's All-Slash zerg Mideel as this is the best "clean way" to lvl up and master materias.

PS: If you're wondering how much time it takes to steal or morph 99 Elixirs, it's around 5 hours, if you get the optimal encounters.

That's about right it did take me about 5 hours to get 99 elixirs.

I never knew about your trick prior to that, what I offered was the legitimate way to level up and gain AP lol

If you consider how long it takes to get 99 elixers with morph, than go fight the pots, its not too time efficient really.

Thanks for the tip though (Not likely to use it, but more info is always good info)

The Best Way to get fast a high Lvl is on CD 1 in junon. Activate the alarm and fight those red smog user mobs my brother plays it on the PS3 and he's still on CD 1 with lvl 67. Well of course that would mean that he knows the game pretty good and about the other training lvls what the others tell is is pretty good too :)

This is great, if your ONLY ambition is to get levels. This method sucks for both AP and Limit breaks.

If you want to break it right down, math always wins :D

Crater (Avg Per Fight)

Xp - 8000
AP - 1000
Time - 3-5 Minutes / fight

After 1 Hour of playtime = 20 fights (going by the 3 minute mark)

Xp - 160,000
AP - 20,000
Time - 1 Hour

Fights are random, and can vary, this is also only if you have an unlimited supply of elixirs.

Junon (Avg per fight)

Xp - 500ish
AP - 30ish
Time - 30 Seconds-2 minuts / fight

After 1 Hour of playtime = 120 Fights (going by the 30 second mark)

XP - 60,000
AP - 3,600
Time - 1 Hour

Mideel (Avg Per Fight)

Xp - 5000
AP - 750
Time - 1-2 Minutes / Fight

After 1 Hour of playtime = 60 Fights (Going by the 1 minute mark)

XP - 300,000
AP - 45,000
Time - 1 Hour of gameplay.

So no matter how you cut it, the best method is mideel.

Keep this in mind when you farm the crater.

Before you can even start farming XP/AP, you need ELIXIRS, how do you get those? Morphing other monsters, which means MORE time in fights, to generate an item to use in a different fight.

See the point? The time you waste doing that, is much better spent in mideel with a triple weapon.

Here is an update for you btw. Going by Mideel, I have 45 hours on my game.

Gold Chocobo Bred - Check
Raced for thousands of GP - Check
Master Magic - Check
Master Summon - Check
Master Command - Check
Every Characters Ultimate Weapon - Check
Every Characters Final Limit Break - Check

All masters are legit, I havent killed Emerald yet, so no present there.
Also havent beaten Ruby yet, so my chocobo is legit too.

So on and so forth. I have a couple things left to do, im currently 6 lvls off of 99, with 2.1 million gil. Much better in Mideel than the Crater, no question.

Math is great, when it's based on fact :)

"Mideel (Avg Per Fight)

Xp - 5000"

Incorrect. The XP yield per Headhunter is 650. 33% chance of encountering 4 which is 2600 XP at best.

In Northern Cave in one particular spot you can encounter the following;

Allemange 1300 (1 or 2)
Christopher 1300 (always with a Gighee 700 XP)
Magic Pot 8000 (1,2 or 3)
Master Tonberry 6000 (always 1)

You can run from Tonberry's, and when you get 3 Magic Pots that's an XP yield of 24,000. You'd have to fight 4 Headhunters in Mideel almost 10 times, and the encounter rate is 33%.

Bearing this in mind, your timing is all out. You haven't factored in enemy lure materia and other factors that open up to you when farming in the Northern Cave.
