around the late 20 to mid 30's. try to just use only magic at frist then after its tranforms use melee attacks.

Win some Deadly Waste's from Smogger's or Zenen's (which will cast Bio2). Basically poison is your friend, and follow advice above.

I've done it at level 28, just make sure you have your material set up correctly. He has 7000hp so with the correct combination of limit breaks, magic and summons you'll be fine.

Big Guard will help greatly, same goes for White Wind. If you get both enemy skills prior to the fight it becomes much, much easier.
With tranqs and placing your characters in the back row you'll further decrease damage. Then you can pummel him away with Beta and Aqualung in its first phase.

When the second phase starts your limits should be ready (even when using sadness).

To further ease this fight you can use Choco Mog to inflict stop, Cross Slash from Cloud and Aeris's Seal Evil.
So with some preparation (after all this enemy skills are useful everywhere) you can beat him quite early without too much hassle.

Awesome to hear that you beat him. Personally, I love a challenge so I try to beat him at the earliest level possible. The first time I ever beat him I was at somewhere in the neighborhood of 38-42, my most recent time is level 22 though :)

Level 23 the other day. Wasn't bad with proper materia and best weapons (for the point in time in the game).

One of the quicker boss battles so far on this playthrough.

I would say that if you fight all the random battles you face until then you should be fine. And as everyone above me has already said, Bio is your friend!

Haven't beat him yet but Climhazzard,Seal Evil,Bio,and Cross Slash are great for hitting hard. Also enemy skills White Wind and Big Guard are great for sustaining the fight (until you defeat number or he beats you).
