Geting Sneak Attack
Hi everybody.
I'm asking for help, I wanted to redo this game but this time at 100%. But I can't get the Sneak Attack Materia. I know it's a price from Chocobo Races but can't get it.

Have you any tips for the best method? It's been almost 3 hours and I still don't get it (by Racing myself of by gambling)

Thanks!

I would recommend that you only use short S class racing to obtain Sneak Attack materia, mainly because your chocobo should be significantly faster than most other racers, and any time you race with TEIOH the race is going to end even faster.

Which prize you get is just a matter of RNG, so you want to complete as many races as possible in the shortest amount of time to win the rare prizes.

There is no special trick other than breeding a faster chocobo to reduce the time it takes to race. Breeding a Gold chocobo through the Chocobo Sage's special method virtually guarantees a decent racer, but you can always breed your best chocobos for a chance at an even faster chocobo (use Zeio nuts).

Green, Black, and Gold chocobos all have the same slowdown ignoring advantage as TEIOH in the races, but any Gold chocobo you breed is more likely to be your best overall Chocobo. I only mention this because it is quite possible that your Gold Chocobo, despite the fact that the racing sheet shows a higher speed (this is actually only their Dashing speed) may be slower than one of your other chocobos in terms of base Running speed (which is more important than Dashing speed). Chole can tell you who your top Chocobos are. When you breed chocobos with a Zeio Nut the offspring will have a chance to inherit, and improve upon, the best qualities from both Parents, and have a 50% chance to be either the mother or the father's color type.

Basically, if your Green or Black chocobo was a faster runner than your Gold, you could breed a Green or Black chocobo that is a better racer than your Gold, so it is worth keeping them for racing and breeding.

Make sure you feed your Chocobos both Mimett and Sylkis greens to max out their stats too. Mimett greens increase acceleration, and Sylkis greens are the best for the other stats.

Max out your chocobos stats with the right greens like Drae suggested above,

When racing against the black chocobo, hold off on using your sprint until you approach the slow part comes up, then just sprint your way through it at the end.

If you can get in front of the black chocobo, and learn the computers movements with it, you can just stay in front of it casually and it'll kinda push you along, since it won't sprint until the last moment, either.

Also try sprinting ahead just at the very beginning and then holding L1 and R1 to recover your sprint.

Play with it a bit.
Teioh is equally as challenging no matter if your stats are maxed or not, but without max stats you don't stand a chance against him. And yes, the RNG makes a difference in the price. Good news is,

A guy here a good while back tried breeding multiple gold chocobos to try to make it easier, and the thing is that max stats are max stats regardless of the breeding stat factor, so it didn't make a difference. I'm just putting this here for OP so that they don't waste their time. It's a good idea in theory, but unfortunately that's not how the game works.

I don't really understand why people feel the need to jump into conversations, offer a bunch of unsolicited advice, and then put other people down by calling their advice a "waste of time". A thinly veiled passive aggressive ad hominem is still an ad hominem. You can try to disguise it as a rational argument, but, that doesn't change anything.

First, the idea that a chocobo with 97 or less running speed is just as good as one with 100 or more running speed is fallacious. This is called a false equivalence. While a chocobo that has a Dashing speed of 147 and a running speed of 97 is "good enough" to win S class races, being able to finish the races faster is better for farming items from the chocobo races.

Additionally, despite the fact that TEIOH will always have better stats than you, Joe is a terrible jockey and will never make use of TEIOH's maximum running speed. As the player you can increase your running speed so that it is as close as possible to your dashing speed, which will give you a much greater advantage than most players realize; TEIOH will run at a casual pace, while you can accelerate using the [switch] button / key, and easily outpace him. Because your running speed is higher than a basic chocobos, and because TEIOH's stats are based on yours, TEIOH can't make up the distance as easily when he starts dashing. If you do it right, you don't even need to use Dash or the stamina regeneration cheat.

Second, the question he answered was "how to win a chocobo race" not "how to farm the races for items" for some reason. He completely missed the point of the conversation. I hope the information about stamina regeneration is helpful anyway.

Be wary of some of his ideas about how chocobos work, it's easy to say "the game doesn't work that way" and use fallacies to construct a seemingly logical argument, but it is much harder to demonstrate how the game actually works.

Hi all,
Thanks for all the advices, I finally reset my Gold Chocobo (from the Ruby weapon) because I don't know why he was not a "Top one" for races...
So IU've breeding all again a Goldie and now it's WAY better.

I managed to get my materia to discover that there's another one missing called Enemy Away, oh ♥♥♥♥ me XD (And I didn't get it from breeding from ashes, but I still get 2 Sneak Attack wich is nice? ^^)

Thanks for all your answers, I will not just farm in the hope of getting Enemy Away.

(Plus: the fact that on the PC version the win prize are mixed is sooooo frustrating !!!!)
