Hero Drink
Does it raise the stats even if you have already maxed them out to 255?

percentage over a value leads to a sum of its results, 510 is correct, capped at 9999, HP are capped at 9999 aswell

Ok, thanks.

So Do I have to assume the Curse Ring works the same way and breaks the cap if everything maxed?

yes, sure. but damage is capped at 9999 aswell. better to find a graceful balance then shooting with cannonballs on sparrows

In this case, Im more concerned in maxing out defense and Magic defense parameters rather than dealing a ton of damage

It might but just to be clear you don't use it combined with Hero Drinks. 3 Hero drinks already gives a 90% stat boost (30% per drink) so the last one only gives 10% before capping so anything past that is probably not going to work and stats that high are so overpowered going further doesn't really matter. At that high you are better off using a Ribbon to stop stats like frog/small which heavily weaken you and most of all confuse which can allow your OP characters to instantly kill your entire team and bypass Final Attack revive builds (it doesn't activate on suicide) or the Tetra accessory which causes most elements to heal you instead of hurt. With such high stats and character's ultimate weapons you can dodge nearly every attack even Ruby's beams/ultima, or even use normal attacks against Ruby Weapon's obscene physical defenses. It lets characters like Cid and Barrett have the best limit breaks too as their dmg massively ramps up and they feature a large number of hits.

Make sure to learn Big Guard and use HP Plus materia (at least until max level basically) and you will easily cut dmg by 50% with Big Guard and have enough EHP to not die, especially considering the absurd levels of evasion stat. Also get Final Attack materia and Life materia (phoenix works but has a limit to 5 uses per battle and some enemies like Ruby heal from its already low fire dmg). Final attack + Life 2 can revive everyone for less MP, too, with the right setup. Either master mega-all materia to make it into Life2 All or equip 2x Life 2 with one paired to Final attack and one to all for same effect.

If you want to step it up further also equip the MP Absorb materia with master command or slash-all/Cut materia to easily maintain top MP so you never run out.

What I'm giving are technical facts, not an opinion, for optimizing EHP, stat caps, and mechanics to improve play. Stop spamming this to me in every thread. While it is childish you are also going to annoy other users as well, not just me.

Ey man, thanks for that so detailed response.
In fact Im preparing to fight both Weapons. Im level 99 on all characters and 255 on all growable stats, I have also all materia and enemy skills and I know I can W summon KoTR + KoTR, mime, mime, mime or counter + mime x8 limit break to end quick the battle but I want challenging and long fights this time, so Im thinking of best builds to have fun

You can setup crazy counter materia pairing effects (with like 6-8 sets for tons of counters with linked materia in a row), you can skip or kill the other characters after using hero drinks on the one you are using and then spam limit break via mime, or try like Ruby Weapon with 1 character 4x hero drink and use Cut materia to fight it off (equip ribbon to stop frog/mini or better tetra elemental to heal from some of its elemental attacks and the Added Effect + Hades to block most status effects including frog/mini/confuse). You can use shield if you want to 100% nullify physical dmg as well. An alternative is to run the shield materia which basically means only non-elemental damage can hurt you aka ultima/shadowflare and such which can be reduced with Big Guard. Throw on Regen on a high hp high stat character with uber evasion stats and unless you got confuse status and suicided odds of death are very very low. Master Command Plus HP/MP Absorb materia are pretty great options for boosting performance, esp with mega-all on the character too.

Im trying setups with Magic Counter + Regen/Shield on one character with Mega All and/or Master Magic + All equipped but it doesnt seem to work on the rest of the party... Im missing something or maybe wanting the effect on everyone is going way too far? Also Cut x4 doesnt seem to work with MP Absorb and something I want to try too is ChocoMog + Added Effect against Ruby since I know he is weak to paralyze status. Is it worth? Cause I feel lazy to farm dazzers right now

I'm not sure if there are any changes that cause some stuff to not work like in the original game on this PC version as I never finished the PC version due to black screen on my old PC and never bothered to come back but I've played the original countless times so my advice will be primarily based on that.

Magic Counter + Regen All effect should probably work but I've never tried that combination but Shield is strictly a single target spell. If restore materia isn't working on all that may very well be a bug.

For Cut materia thinking about it I believe it and some other command materias have bugs so what you need to do is pair MP Absorb with Master Command which should work unlike the original materia of the ability.

Choco/Mog + Added Effect will grant wind element dmg (I don't remember if Ruby absorbs this, gotta test it to know) and 20% chance to cause stop. If you want you can use the W-Item duplication trick to get 99 daggers after getting just 1 dagger. Or you can try hades with its long-A animation (bleh).

Something I wonder....
Can Hero Drinks be used to Damage Overflow with characters other than Vincent and Barrett?
And can you use the W-Item duplication glitch to multiply your Hero Drinks, or do I need to keep whipping up on Joe at the Gold Saucer just to get that 4th Hero Drink?

W-Item works for duplicating Hero Drinks.

The overflow glitch can also occur with Barrett I believe but I don't remember the details. It should be far easier to do than Vincent's though, iirc. I think it was something about having the right materia and weapon along with good enough stats (possibly via hero drink) in contrast to the uber grind of tens of thousands of enemies Vincent needs.
